Muscle Matters: Magnesium and nutrients for muscle health

You may not realize it, but our muscle health contributes significantly to our overall health and quality of life. Muscles and its important functions

Our muscles have diverse and impressive functions in our bodies, including pumping blood, supporting movement, lifting weights, and for women giving birth. Smooth muscle Involuntary muscles found in various internal structures including the digestive tract, uterus, blood vessels and arteries.
Cardiac muscle Involuntary muscles found only in the heart. These muscles function uniquely to other muscle types because it beats rhythmically.

Nutrients for muscle function, and how it relates to muscle cramps

Our muscles requires various nutrients for it to function properly (i.e. contract and relax), including magnesium and calcium. Deficiency of these nutrients results in mineral and electrolyte imbalances, which is a risk factor for cramping (a muscle disorder).
